For over 40 years, the Golden State Killer (also known as the East Area Rapist and the Original Night Stalker) has alluded police. However, DNA found at the crime scenes would be the final hope for victims and authorities. The Golden State Killer is believed to have raped at least 45 women, killed at least 12 people and has ransacked countless homes in both northern and central California.

Sacramento Police have announced that 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo was arrested on the evening of April 24, 2018. He was charged with two counts murder in Ventura County and is currently being held in Sacramento County Jail.

According to the Sacramento Bee, “FBI agents and law enforcement from Sacramento County and Southern California were outside a home this morning in Citrus Heights near the city border with Roseville. Joseph James DeAngelo has lived there for at least two decades, public records show.”
Reddit sleuths have discovered possible photos of DeAngelo. Please note, these are unconfirmed images of the suspect arrested. However, the age, location and physical description match the suspect.
